When You Brew Your Coffee With Some Nostalgia

The smell of coffee has a nostalgia. Take a break from the crowded over priced cafes of Connaught Place. Here you will neither find chilled air nor a posh setting. But you will get peace, serenity and some moments when you can be yourself.

The Indian Coffee House of Connaught Place (CP), New Delhi is a cafe with uniqueness at every corner. CP is all about, light, sound, extra ordinary decor, and many more. But this house of coffee has never felt any intention to compete with them. The cafe has witnessed many histories, from its inception on 1940.

The second and third floor of Maharaja Mohan Singh building has this legendary cafe. The uniqueness of this cafe starts from its menu. The menu chart is very different. If you are looking for, some cappuccino or cafe latte then it is not the place for you. But a cup of filter coffee with or without milk within 20Rs can fill your heart with some happiness of simplicity. “ I think, I come here for its simplicity” said Shankar Trivedi of State Bank of India, by sipping his cup of coffee. Many people like Trivedi, comes here whenever they get some time.

More the city is growing, more the people are coming, more costly it is becoming. Every corner of New Delhi has some cafe of Western style. The Coffee House, is an Indian cafe. According to the staffs, the most sold foods are mutton dosa and cheese omelet. Mutton dosa is a simple preparation. Inside the dosa you will get mutton keema fried with onion and some simple spice. They will serve it with a bowl of Sambar and Chatni. Rajashmita Sen, an HR professional told “ I think I am addicted the mutton dosa and cheese omelet.” “Come on, you are in CP and getting a delicious food like these in just 50Rs. Sometimes it makes me feel unbelievable” she added.

The place has an outdoor sitting arrangement and also indoor. If it is winter then, outdoor sitting is great. The daily busy routine and timelessness is taking away your soul. What you really need is some time with yourself. Then you should visit this small slice of New Delhi. Keep your laptop away for sometime, bring a book of your love order a a cup of coffee, give yourself some moments. The place will blend some nostalgia with its coffee. This what you were looking for, aren’t you?
